Top of the day, 3MTT Rivers fam!
Has it been raining in your area too? It’s a cold Tuesday here, and as I sip my warm cup of tea, I’m excited to catch up with you!
It’s been a minute since I last sent you a letter. How have you been? With everything going on this period—Cohort 2 finally kicking off physical training and new members joining the community—we’re now a whopping 6,500+ members strong. Can you believe it?
I know there’s a lot of perception about the 3MTT program; the good, bad, and possibly the ugly (I hope not though). However, your mentality is your reality.
Henry Ford once said:
“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you are right.”
In other words, it's all in your head. This quote is a powerful reminder of the immense power of our thoughts and beliefs. Our mindset plays a significant role in shaping our reality, especially when it comes to achieving our goals.
So, what attitude are you bringing into the 3MTT program? What mindset will you carry as you start your physical training? Here’s how it works:
If you truly believe you can excel and persevere to attain success in the 3MTT program, despite whatever challenges or curve balls are thrown your way, you will do your best to achieve it.
But if you don’t believe you can overcome challenges like financial difficulties, access to devices, data, or anything else, then you might not even try. Whatever you think, it comes true for you. What attitude are you choosing? You decide.
Celebrating Our Weekly Reflection Winners
To all the weekly reflection winners from weeks 8, 9, and recently, 10—we haven’t forgotten you! We’ve had a lot going on lately, so there have been some unusual delays in sending out the rewards, but rest assured, you’ll get them. Hang in there!
Cohort 2 Physical Training
We all know that Cohort 2 physical training is in full swing, starting with the orientations at the different Applied Learning Clusters (ALCs) last weekend. Were you contacted by your ALC? Did you attend your orientation? How was it? Feel free to share your experience in the community and drop some sweet pics if you took any!
Yes, our orientation experience challenge is still on! All you have to do is come up with some very creative content centered around the ALC Orientation Event. This could be short video clips, skits, or whatever your creative mind cooks up. Post it on social media with an exciting caption and tag the following accounts: @MTNNigeria, @BosunTijani, @3MTTNigeria, @IHSTowers, @NITDANigeria, your community manager, and your ALC. Don’t forget to use the hashtags #My3MTT #My3MTTOrientationExperience #3MTTRivers.
Judging Criteria:
Originality and creativity of content
Content that communicates the right message—creating excitement around the commencement of Cohort 2
Number of engagements (likes, comments, retweets, or reposts) on your post
Use the right hashtags and tag the mentioned social accounts.
If you’ve attended your orientation, start working on your videos, post them on your socials following the instructions above, and submit the link to your post through the form HERE.
Important Announcements
1. Matching to ALCs:
Several questions have come in about this, so let’s clear things up. If you’re in Cohort 2 and haven’t been matched to an Applied Learning Cluster (ALC), here’s why:
Even though 3MTT is a government program, there’s nothing political or biased about the matching process. Fellows are matched to physical centers based on proximity to an ALC (location) and the availability of these ALCs in a location or LGA. Everyone in Cohort 2 who is located (according to their profile) in an LGA where there is an ALC has been or will be matched. In Rivers State, the focus LGAs for Cohort 2 are Obio Akpor and Port Harcourt. So, if your profile says you reside in any of these LGAs and you’re in Cohort 2, you either have been matched or will be soon. Keep an eye on your dashboard and email!
Here are the names of the ALCs in Rivers State. If you receive a call or text from any of them, it's likely legitimate. However, always stay cautious and follow all security guidelines when heading out.
Obio Akpor LGA:
KHc Trades & Technologies LTD
Pan African Professional Studies
CAD CONSULTING LIMITED
Wedigraf Technologies Limited
Port Harcourt LGA:
Quantum Business School
Entrepreneurship & Innovation Centre Limited
Olotusquare
2. Recently Moved to Cohort 2:
Not to worry—matching is still ongoing, and orientations will continue this week. But if for some reason you’re still unmatched, remember: this is just Cohort 2, and we have many more cohorts ahead. You’re not missing out on anything, so please be patient with the process.
Course/Location Change Issues
If you need to change your course or location, you can do that using this form. Please think carefully before filling out the form—don’t come back later asking to revert to your original course! Also, note that the window for making these changes will soon close for Cohort 2 fellows.
For Cohorts 3, 4, and learning community members, you don’t need to fill the form; simply update your profile on your dashboard.
If you’ve filled out the form and are waiting for changes to take effect, please be patient as the team works on it. I can’t give a specific timeframe for when the process will be completed, as it depends on several factors. In the meantime, continue with your original course and get busy with what’s available on your dashboard.
Before you ask about the 3MTT program or your dashboard, please go through these guides below:
If you still need help, feel free to ask your questions in the Telegram community—not in my DMs! I’d hate to ignore your message, not because I want to, but because it’s overwhelming to respond to individual chats, especially when other community members can help.
On a Lighter Note
Being a community manager isn’t all fun and vibes—there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes to ensure your issues are resolved, questions are answered, and clarifications are provided. I shared my own orientation experience on X here. Did you see me at your center? My favourite part? I loved interacting with you all, and I’m looking forward to many more interactions in the coming weeks. For the centers I couldn’t visit last weekend, you’ll see me sooooon!
Come to think of it, I should submit my orientation experience for a chance to win the E-pad since it seems like y’all aren’t that interested, lol.
I hope you found this episode insightful, and I hope it brings you more clarity about the 3MTT program. And yes, our newsletters are weekly, but with so much going on in the background, it hasn’t been easy to keep up. But no matter what, your technical growth is our priority. 🫶
Our fellow spotlight goes to these amazing individuals. Keep it up and congratulations!
I’ll see you next time, and until then, take care!
With love,
Joy Nwaiwu
