Life’s Been Lifing, But So Are We...The 3MTT Hackathon Is Here!
My Dear 3MTT Rivers family,
It’s been a minute, or maybe an hour, or a whole day (depending on how you count these things 😅).
But really, it’s been a while since we last caught up, and I’ve missed writing to you. How have you been? Have you been learning something new? Gotten that internship or job yet?
Or perhaps, like many of us, you’re just taking it one day at a time, figuring out this thing called “adulting.” Wherever you are on your journey, I hope life has been kind to you.
For me, life has been “lifing” as usual: deadlines, events, community work…phew!
But I still find myself thinking about you all, especially our amazing Cohort 3 fellows who have just rounded off their training. You’ve come such a long way, from onboarding to courses, to assessments, and now, we’re at that exciting point again: The 3MTT Hackathon!
This year’s hackathon is different. It’s bigger, bolder, and regional!
As a Rivers State fellow, you’ll be competing not just within the state but with other brilliant minds from Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Delta, and Edo States. The energy, the competition, the innovation, it’s really going to be incredible.
And of course, amazing rewards are waiting for you:
🥇 1st Place – ₦500,000 + 100GB data per team member
🥈 2nd Place – ₦300,000 + 50GB data per team member
🥉 3rd Place – ₦200,000 + 20GB data per team member
But even beyond the prizes, think of the exposure, the networking, the experience, and yes, the bragging rights. Imagine being crowned the 3MTT Hackathon winner in the entire South South region!
You’ll also get a fully funded trip to the host state (travel, accommodation, and logistics all covered!). Plus, it’s a great way to build something meaningful, something that solves real problems.
The hackathon theme this year is “Resilience Through Innovation.”
And you can choose from these four thematic areas:
Climate and Environment
Health and Well-being
Economic and Financial Inclusion
Technology for Resilience
So… what’s that idea you’ve been holding onto? The one that could make life easier for others? Big or small, it doesn’t matter. This is your chance to bring it to life.
The good news is, though the deadline had passed, we’ve reopened submissions just for you! You have until the end of this month to form your team (2–3 members) and submit your idea.
